AFRICAN PENGUINS. RhinThe African Penguin has been shifted from Vulnerable to Endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, Birdlife International announced. African Penguins have been sliding towards extinction since industrial fishing started around the Cape. The last four years have seen a population crash. As the climate changes and fisheries transform the oceans, the world's African Penguins are in trouble. Young Penguins aren't able to take all the changes into account and are finding themselves 'trapped' in parts of the sea that can no longer support them even as better options are available.o poaching is currently at a crisis point. By the end of 2015, the number of African Rhinos killed by poachers had increased for the sixth year in a row with at least 1,338 Rhinos killed by poachers across Africa in 2015. These statistics are compiled by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Species Survival Commission’s African Rhino Specialist Group (AfRSG).
