ROAD LESS TRAVELED: PHILIPPINES
Jonathan is no stranger to the Philippines, but with it’s 7000+ islands, there’s a lot more to explore! He uncovers the mysterious tale of cacao in the Philippine islands, brought by the Spanish galleons from Central/South America. This anthropological trip takes him to Davao where he hits up the cacao farms and learns more about the trade - all the way to mysterious Siquijor island; the home of witchcraft and wizardry. In between his cacao chase, he explores the fringes of the Philippine islands; motorcycle rides to still spewing volcanoes, understanding the 2 wheel riding camaraderie of Manila’s best and brightest - a once in a lifetime chance to pilot a helicopter and land it in Fort Drum, a WWII stronghold in the middle of the sea. Shamans, exploration, under water, over air, and on tarmac, this is RLT in the Philippines!
