Sheppard a McKay jsou na opuštěné planetě, na které je antická laboratoř, kde byla zkoumána síla ZPM. Antikové udělali osudnou chybu, která vyhladila život na celé planetě. McKay má nápad, jak uskutečnit test a přitom podruhé nezničit planetu. Ronon a Teyla jsou na planetě, kde se nachází lid, se kterým Teyla kdysi obchodovala. Ronon na planetě najde starého přítele, který mu řekne o skupince lidí, kteří přežili útok Wraithů na své planetě.(Varan)
