Detektiv William Murdoch prověřuje zajímavou „hračku", vynález, jenž využívá nový druh světla. Také od nadřízeného inspektora Brackenreida dostal dva lístky na Dinosauří ples. Zatím ale neví, zda by tam měl jít. Proto se raději vrhne do dalšího případu. Tělo švadleny Alberty Moffatové, která se v noci vracela domů, bylo nalezeno zohavené. Stopy naznačují, že vrahem může být pověstný Jack Rozparovač. Této verzi vyšetřování se přiklání i detektiv Scotland Yardu, Edward Scanlan, jehož sledování podezřelého Harlena Orgilla přivedlo z Londýna až do Toronta. Když policie objeví další mrtvou ženu, detektiv Murdoch požádá dr. Robertse, aby po něj vypravoval psychologický profil vraha. Ve hře je ale věc, s níž nikdo nepočítá...(Česká televize)
