In April 1944, as the Chaudieres Leo Major volunteers to try and make contact with the Dutch resistance in the city of Zwolle, and manages to liberate the city without the loss of civilian life.

Pokud by je nacisté otevřeli, mohli by zaplavit celé údolí. Mabry se rozhodne jít příkladem a vede své vojáky přímo v první linii. Duben 1945. Po klíčové roli při osvobození řeckého přístavu Soluň je major Anders Lassen a jeho muži z britské Special Boat Squadron nasazeni na podporu operace Grapeshot, závěrečné spojenecké ofenzivy v severní Itálii. Příslušníci této elitní a přísně utajované jednotky dostávají nebezpečný úkol: provést diverzní výsadek u jezera Comacchio a odlákat německé síly od hlavního spojeneckého útoku. Lassen a jeho muži se po vylodění za nepřátelskými liniemi ocitají v bažinatém terénu bez jakéhokoli krytí a brzy čelí intenzivní palbě německých kulometů. Přes početní nevýhodu i nepřetržité ostřelování vede Lassen jeden útok za druhým proti nepřátelským pozicím. V sázce jsou životy jeho mužů i úspěch celé spojenecké ofenzivy, a tak musí riskovat vše, aby jejich odvážná diverzní akce splnila svůj účel. (National Geographic)
